Prince of Narnia: The Educational Vision of C.S. Lewis

November 30 @ 6:00 pm - 8:30 pm

Free

This evening is part of a series called “Through the Wardrobe” that celebrates classical Catholic education. In this captivating series of talks, Holy Spirit Preparatory School faculty share the beauty, truth, and goodness of the great works of Western Civilization. We begin the evening with Mass and provide hors d’oeuvres, childcare, and beautiful music performed by Holy Spirit Prep scholars.

“Prince of Narnia: The Educational Vision of C.S. Lewis” draws from C.S. Lewis’ fiction and non-fiction, especially Dr. Cornelius’ tutelage of Prince Caspian. We discuss the role of good stories rooted in permanent things and of direct contact with reality and how these inform true education. Not only does Lewis provide insight into the vitality of a Christan worldview, but he is the master of the good story, and his works convey how to pass on the things that matter most.
