Sensory Friendly Mass
In an effort to reach out to and welcome families affected by disability to full participation in the liturgy, we will be holding quarterly Sensory-Friendly Masses at St. Brigid Catholic Church. All are welcome to attend! This Mass will include softer music, readings from the children’s lectionary, and a shorter, more literal homily. Families are invited to bring noise-canceling headphones or other calming items; visual aids and sensory items will also be available for parents to borrow during Mass. Many people can benefit from the less stimulating and stigma-free environment, including those with sensory processing issues, intellectual and developmental disabilities, and adults with Dementia and Alzheimer’s Disease. Those with and without a disability are encouraged to attend and help create an inclusive experience for all!
